WHO IS ILSE?

My name is Ilse van der Kooij and I'm a 32 year old photographer and graphic designer, living in Amsterdam. After I studied Media & Culture at the University of Amsterdam for two years I wanted to put the theoretical knowledge into practice using my creativity. I decided to apply for the bachelor Allround Styling at the Artemis Academy in Amsterdam. I graduated in 2016 with a media concept and fictional campaign for the Art Gallery 'The Public House of Art’.

In 2014 I lived in New York for 6 months where I did my internship in marketing, PR and graphic design at Suitsupply. When I came back to the Netherlands, I stayed at the company and worked as a Sales Professional for three years.

After successfully completing a photography course, I’m currently exploring the world of freelance photography. Next to that I work as a Graphic Designer and Marketeer for Hyde Park - real estate development - in Hoofddorp, where we are busy working on a new city district in Metropolitan Region Amsterdam.

For me design is thinking made visual, and with this portfolio I would like you to see the world through my eyes.
